Delivery Information

UPDATE 8th November 2011 (CHRISTMAS 2011-BEYOND):We will no longer be sending large items via Royal Mail. This is in response to an extreamly poor service. In anticipation for the busy Christmas period we have decided to stop most deliveries with Royal Mail over such periods so that we can better serve our customers over this busy and important time. Our current prefered delivery options are: Collect+ or a Courier, there may still be cases where Royal Mail is used but this will be limited over the Christmas period. In all instances unless you select Courier (£6.99) we reserve the right to decide which method of delivery to use.

Bobtail Pets' Delivery Charges

We offer FREE DELIVERY on orders over £59 sent via CollectPlus (Collect+) or via a Courier for oversized items (DHL/FedEX/MyHerms) and charge a standard low price of £4.79 for smaller orders under £59. UK MAINLAND ONLY - Usual postcode restrictions apply.

Delivery is via CollectPlus (Collect+) in all instances where possible unless we choose to send via Royal Mail. As of 8/11/2010 we have stopped sending large parcels via Royal Mail. If an order is too large (remember we can ship anything from 1-1000kg) we will use one of our parcel & pallet delivery networks. Large Shipments are handled by DHL, FedEx, CityLink and HDNL so you can be sure of excellent service.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU WOULD PREFER NOT TO USE THE COLLECT+ DELIVERY OPTION WE CAN SEND YOUR PARCEL VIA A DOOR DELIVERY COURIER FOR A FLAT FEE OF £6.99

Useful Information: If you are unsure about how the Collect Plus service works please feel free to ring us. The safe delivery of your order is our greatest concern, if we feel your nearest collect plus store is too far away for you to collect from we will NOT send your parcel via this service and use a courier which deliveres to your door instead at no extra cost. Orders which are too large to be sent via Collect+ will be sent via a specialist Courier again and NO EXTRA COST to your door (we use DHL, FedEx, CityLink and HDNL for their excellent service - never Parcelforce) .

What is Collect+?

Collect+ is a convenient, secure parcel service that enables you to receive your order at neighbourhood stores.

No delays due to industrial action, no waiting in all day for signed-for deliveries and no weekend queing at a sorting office to collect a parcel Royal Mail tried to deliver whilst you were out!

There are currently over 3000 stores offering the Collect+ service, including supermarkets, corner shops and newsagents. By the end of the year there will be over 4000!

Collect+ is designed for the way you live your life.

Convenient! - Collect your parcel at a time that suits you! All Collect+ stores are open at least 9 hours/day, Monday-Saturday, and 98% of stores are open at least 8 hours/day, 7 days a week.

Secure! - Collect+ provide email/SMS alerts and proof of delivery as standard and stores, drivers and depots use secure storage facilities, barcode scanners, signature pads and proof of ID checks.

The movement of parcels is provided by Home Delivery Network Limited (HDNL). Their 3500 dedicated drivers deliver and collect over 300,000 parcels a day.

How does it work?

1. Select Collect+ as your shipping option when placing your order with Bobtail Pets

2. We process your order as usual and take the parcel to our nearest Collect+ store. They'll scan and store it securely and we will be given a receipt as proof of dispatch.

3. Collect+ send an email or SMS message to tell you and us that it's been dropped off. The message includes a reference number that is used to track it online if you need to check it's progress and to claim the parcel at its destination. Collect+ estimate a delivery time of 3-5 business days from the date of drop off which is the same as Royal Mail delivery.

4. When it arrives at its destination (the closest Collect+ store to your delivery postcode, unless you advise us differently), Collect+ email or SMS you and us to say that it's ready for collection.

5. You then collect your parcel when it suits you! They'll hold the parcel for up to 10 days. You and Bobtail Pets are sent a further email/SMS message advising when it's been collected.

That's it!

When choosing Collect+ as your delivery option, we do advise that you provide your Mobile Telephone Number as well as your email address. This is so you can receive the Free text message telling you that your parcel is ready to be collected.

We may have to use DHL or FedEX for Large orders even if you have selected the chepest delivery method at checkout (Collect Plus) - at no extra cost to you.

Your order should be packaged and dispatched within 5-7 working days, Monday to Friday, and delivery should take place 3-5 days after dispatch.

BOBTAIL LOCAL

Some of our products are for 'BOBTAIL LOCAL CUSTOMERS ONLY' this means that we sell these products only as part of our £3.79 Local Delivery Service called 'Bobtail Local' (Deliver is free for orders over £59.00). This is a service for anyone who lives in Manchester and the surrounding areas. If you would like to know more about our pet food delivery service please do not hesitate to contact us. The benifit of this local delivery is we arrange delivery with you at a convenient time - no more waiting in for the postman.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS/WORLDWIDE

We can accept orders from our friends in Europe and other continents, however, our FREE DELIVERY is only available for UK MAINLAND customers (postcode restrictions apply) and the extra postage costs will need to be met should you wish to place an order with a delivery address outside of the UK. So please feel free to take advantage of our great prices but you may wish to check with us the cost of postage before you order.
